Discussion Points Meeting Monday 5th November

However, we did discuss the points in your email as follows:

1.       The meeting considered your publicity and marketing responsibilities and felt that we need you to publicise the club in lots of ways and attempt to get us sponsorship.  I suggest you talk to Gary as he has approached some of the local companies over the years and the feedback he received may be useful for you.

2.       Space on website - you need to talk directly to Ryan as it can be done but he has a few issues. Space on club shirts - definitely - especially if they pay for the shirts!!  Race day banners definitely!  Advertising space in newsletter - definitely.  One other suggestion raised was that of spraying the company name on the tarmac.

3.       Race reports - good idea, we have agreed that I will report on those meetings I attend and if I am not going to be there Michelle or Marie will do.

4.       Committee members on website - another good idea - have asked Ryan to sort this info from the AGM minutes and post.

5.       Another suggestion was to publicise our top riders on the website too ie: anyone with a top 8 ranking either nationally or Brits!  Finally, it was also suggested that you approach the owners/managers of George Yard re the race shirts as they are quite keen on sponsoring local sports.

The reason for setting some contractual rules for the track management committee was because, as you saw at the AGM track management is an incredibly passionate and controversial area therefore causing all sorts of problems and potential accusations.  We are lucky to be in this position of having a number of people interested in developing our facilities but within that there is the risk of disagreement therefore we need them to plan and agree carefully their changes and be responsible for their actions ensuring that the functioning of the club, which is after all our only source of income, is not affected by any disagreements.
